With Members from the Melvins, Brutal Truth, and Napalm Death, it is hard to know what to expect out of this new supergroup of floppy haired, metal head legends. There were rumors that it would be all Melvins covers, or just a sad attempt at a Venom tribute but NO...They really showed ME, and EVERYONE at the Double Door what for, and kicked the asses of all who were there to witness.. See a clip from the show and learn for yourself.

The Show Started with Buried at Sea who was AMAZING!!! They were so heavy and slow. I had been looking forward to hearing them play for a while, and sure enough, I was not let down at all, infact I was more impressed than ever. They have come along way in their stage shows, through equipment disasters, anxiety, no crowds, the works. But that night they were really on the ball, heavy, loud and an evil confidence to rival all. I have seen that bands equipment save the asses of almost every band when playing in chicago too, from Sunn o))) to Weedeater to...Man I cant' even remember, I think EVERY band has played on their gear, and now, Venomous concept has too. HAIL the vintage SUNN shit.

Then Nausea came on and was a breath of fresh-heavy air. I have not seen a band like this in probably YEARS. It was painfully obvious how much they were into Doom, and they covered some Doom songs, but sounded original, crusty and fast. The bassists vocals were fucking awesome, High pitched from hell. It made some people wet themselves. Who pulled the strings to get these guys to play? I would like to thank them.
Then Venomous Concept Came on and suprised the Shit out of everyone. Its hard to know what to expext when you have such an unlikely ensemble from so many different genres. Will they be slow, doomy, fast? Shit, they were balls out bad ass is what they were. Kevin Sharp really showed us hes' still got allot to scream about. The vocals were course, fast and by far the most kick ass since Brutal Truth's "Kill Trend Suicide". And talk about fast, it was just all around insane grindcore from start to finish. Shit, REALLY KICKED everyone's ass.
