PHOBIA in GUADALAJARA JALISCO. MEXICO.
It's the rainy season in Guadalajara. It was starting to rain by the time we got to the club. As I was crossing the street I hear my american name. weird. it's Shane they just got there after missing their 1st flight. a bunch of bullshit they dealt with and almost cancelled the tour. BUT THEY MADE IT!!!!
there are a bunch of kids hangin outside a hundred or so. an ocean of black and patches. we chill then it starts to really pour. we go in I get a beer a 32oz..........i love mexico. 32oz. are called cahuamas.
why can't all bars sell cahuamas.
The place is called
Santa Sangre
which is a medium size club. It's run by Teresa. Good People. She is from the US so speaks English fluently get in touch if you want to play Guadalajara. Her band
Nunca Mas opened. Nunca Mas has been around since the late 90's and has played with the likes of Death by Stereo and NAPALM DEATH. They are grinding metal/HC.

.
i didn't get any pics i was busy finding my cousin and getting a drink.
Next up was
Emphysema
who's guitarist also sings for
Fallas del Sistema
their singer only sang half their set cuz he was HIT BY A car and had a huge bandage on his stomach. SO no excuses not even getting hit by a car is a good enough reason for bailing out of a show.
After was
Decapitado

Decapitado is the best grindcore band in Guadalajara. They have been around for 5 years. They are about to release a new cd out on
Estajanovismo Records and Cryptas Records
next up was
PHOBIA. the place was getting packed about 300+
LEON!

It's been about 6 years since Phobia played Guadalajara and the fucking kids go off. The stage is small so I have no idea how Shane can jump around soo much with out falling off. Leon from
Exhumed &
Impaled has replaced Bruce as bass player and his vocals kick ass. Danny is the new drummer both in
Intronaut (prog/metal). They are heading out on a North American tour this month. This new line up sounds better than ever. Shane was speaking in english and those that understood laughed in all the right places. He said the reason that they had soo much trouble crossing the border is cuz Leon is just so damn ugly. that was pretty funny. Although not everyone speaks english they all understood the international rally cry of UP THE PUNX! and straight into another crushing song. They finish playing and the crowd ain't goin' nowhere. Phobia plays 2 more songs. rad. They sounded killer considering the gear they were using was fucking up a bit. No one seemed to give a fuck about that anyway. One thing that came to mind while Shane was talking is that no one in the crowd said anything about him not speaking in spanish. Out of respect. I wish the same respect was shown to
Bumbkaat from Chula Vista/Tijuana when they played the
Long Beach warehouse. The singer was speaking in Spanish and some dumb fuck starts yelling ENGLISH PLEASE english. The irony and stupidy. Shane doesn't know spanish and the singer of Bumbklaat english probably isn't very good. or maybe he didn't think what he wanted to say he could express it correctly in english. Anyone that had gone traveling to another country where they don't speak the language knows how awful it is when someone makes fun of the way you speak or your pronunciation. SO FUCK OFF and how often do bands from Mexico tour the US. I can count only one:
Coaccion of recent. Having lived in Seattle for several years I know you NEVER see that shit. So when they do come show the same fucking respect they give us there. GIVE RESPECT GET RESPECT. UP THE PUNX!!!! All in all amazing show. I heard that it was the best grindcore show of the YEAR. Every Saturday is the Cultural Flea Market it's HUGE and you can get anything from any subculture you want.
everyone kicks it there on sat hangs out and sells their shit.
