| A great show happened to come through a few weeks back at an unlikely back alley bar called Joe's. Actually, the venue was quite nice, the real shocker was that the best band played first to an empty house. The line-up was The Mighty Nimbus, Pro-Pain, CROWBAR and Entombed. The Mighty Nimbus layed down a smooth, meaty set. The more I listen to them, the more I dig it. |

| There are some fantastic hooks, that dig deep and wont let out. This is a band formed by Pete Cambel from Sixty Watt Shaman, with his humongous football player brother destroying the drums. This drummer preps for shows like a ECF fighter, and destroys the drums with manic intent. If your like me, than you love Goatsnake, and if you love Goatsnake, you will definately be into this band. The other all star cast could not make it for this tour, so The singer, also from Sixty Watt was replaced, and Eric Larson, from ATP was replaced by Mike Burns, from RUE. The shoe not only fit, but was torn to oblivion! | ![]() |

Crowbar showed up with ANOTHER all-new/all-star line up, as well as some long awaited new material. Most notably was the Drummer Tommy from Soilent Green and the Bass player from Goatwhore. The true STAR was Kirk Windstien who has survived the years in the scene with little credit. Windstien created and perpetuates an original sound that is integral in allot of newer bands, and I don't think they even know it. Crowbar was doing down tuned sludge back in like 92 and earlier, so what if every song is not amazing. They have an incredible repertoire of classic tunes, from "All I had I gave" to "Planets Collide" and even the new stuff is good. So... Give Crowbar theirs. |
| Entombed has been playing great thrash for years and years, but they always toured with King Diamond. This was the first U.S. tour that I can remember where they actually headlined. It was good to see them play their classic songs like "Wolverine blues" all around they put out a great set with out a moment of cease-fire. Excellent show, which I think the Mighty Nimbus totally stole. more reviews |
